BMLLC Professional Development and Training Course Series

IPPM™ Series

The Integrated Program Performance Management Certification credential conferred by the College of Performance Management and Accredited by APMG-International. The subject matter involves performance planning, measurement and management of programs in a wide range of industries and environments.

IMMP™ is a unique certification because it covers the comprehensive disciplines involved with cost, schedule and technical performance measurement and management. IPPM™ evolved  from core Earned Value Management practices by adding subject matter to fill gaps necessary to properly address the entire range of disciplines in Technical Performance Measurement / Benefits Realization Management (TBM), as well as agile / dynamic Schedule and Resource Management (SRM)

CPIC Principles

The Capital Planning and Investment Control course series is designed around the principles necessary to develop and effective investment Business Case for program selection, control and evaluation. Managing programs for results ensures that the Return on Investment is realized through delivering the benefits and outcomes in either financial or non-financial units of measure at or above what is pre-approved in the Business Case. It also requires that investment in terms of resources and time is managed within limits pre-approved in the Business Case.

Benefits Realization

The Benefits Realization Management (BRM) course series is designed around both the general principles of value realization from portfolios, programs and projects, as well as the practical application of these principles with the Amplify™ software application. I took this approach because the concepts within BRM look similar to "normal" project scope, schedule and budget planning - but they are in reality very different. The use of Amplify™ to illustrate - for example - that while a Benefits Map or Results Chain may resemble a Critical Path Schedule, it is very different. Amplify™ helps illustrate the concepts.

GAO Best Practice

The GAO Best Practice Guide course series is designed to provide general awareness of the background and objectives defined by GAO for all Guides that support the Integrated Program Management processes and practices. Similar to the other courses developed by BMLLC, this series presents the Guides in a way that outlines the processes recommended by GAO for Agencies to manage better. But they also highlight the specific criteria defined by GAO for compliance with their audit expectations. The courses also touch on the large array of actual audit case studies that form the foundation of the best practice criteria.

EVM Project Control

This is a comprehensive and unique approach to the policy, processes and practices involved with Earned Value Management Systems authored by an expert with over 30 years experience implementing, reviewing, and operating systems in over 20 nations. The focus of the subject matter is not on what it takes to gain a compliance check-mark.

Rather the focus is on: why is EVM beneficial?, and how can it be implemented in ways that are cost and benefit-effective. There three levels of this professional development program - one that gives the "30,000 foot view" of the EVM principles and objectives; the second that is designed for those needing foundational awareness and mastery of the basic principles within EVM; and then a practical level / case-study-oriented application level.
